Default Calling all former Pontins entertainment staff

I have recently discovered a web-site for anyone who was a Bluecoat, Entertainments Manager, children's entertainer, cabaret act or musician at any Pontins centre.

The stated aim is:

Our Mission - Not Impossible:

To list all Past & Present Pontin's sites, together with the full names of all the Bluecoats for each season that the camp was in operation, including Entertainment Managers, Assistant Entertainments Managers, Chief Hosts/Bluecoats etc.

. . an enormous task to undertake - but with YOUR HELP - We can do it !

There is also a facility where you can try to contact long lost former colleagues.

Follow this link http://www.bluecoats.net/index.html

Les, I have already contacted them about the glaring error on the Blackpool 1979 page!

Default Hi - to all Pontins Entertainemts Staff

Well this is my 1st visit onto this site. I am for those of you who have not found us yet, Jeannie 'admin' at Bluecoats.net.This is another great site. Anything that keeps the Great British Holiday Centre alive has to be good.

We at Bluecoats.net are a very different site in some ways to this. We want to charter the comings & goings of the ents teams over the Pontins era. We have some problems at the moment in publishing new data, but all I can say on that (as am not the IT webmaster, I NO NOTHING) it's something corrupt that has stopped us . It is slowly being rebuilt. Registrations can still come throu and be prepared for publishing etc. Notices can still be published in the Ent's Office on our opening page.

The site however is strictly for The Entertainments Dept from Pontins Only. We have re-united quite a few people within the 1st year of being active. So please any of you Pontin ent's staff that read this Our forum is active in early stages and your input is welcome.

Its a pleasure to come in and post to you all.

Your very welcome at www.bluecoats.net

Hi Jeannie,

Welcome to Butlins Memories Forum. I have spent quite a bit of time recently perusing the Bluecoats Reunited site, and find it really interesting, having been both a Redcoat and a Bluecoat.

Your forum is also very interesting, and there are some good stories on there that will interest people even if they have never been to Pontins. Butlins and Pontins camps may be very different, but the experiences of people who have worked there show a lot of similarities.

Anyway, keep up the good work, and I look forward to seeing the site grow just as this one has.

I posted the link two years ago and the site has been down for about 18 months. I've given up hope of it reappearing. As you worked for Pontins I'm sure you will find this site interesting http://www.pontinshistory.co.uk/. This one has been going for about a year and has quite a lot of members, including me! I'm Nigel J on this one, by the way.

Hope this helps.

Thanks. I've just joined the forum. Doesn't look like it's very active compared to this one but I'll check in there once a week or so and see if anything's happening.

Pontins?
What a joke. Amateur Land.

I did 3 weeks at Dolphin and walked. No one not even the alleged Ents manager had a clue.
The childrens entertainer didnt even know how to use the projector (I had to do it).
Worst 3 weeks of my life.
